Peach Moon Doula

~To respect not direct, to serve and not save.

My Story

Intuitively seeking the needs of my clients. I am a mother of two and understand the importance of support at every varying stage. I chose the color peach because it represents a mixture of four different colors and when hand-mixed, will always be slightly different in shade. Births and babies are never the same. My care and support is always unique and tailored to my clients. Click here to read my full story.

Training

Education and Background

Shafia Monroe Consulting, Full Circle Doula Training.
April 19, 2018

Certified Birth Doula
(CBD)

The goal of the Full Circle program is to improve birth outcomes. Teach me to lead and respect my community. Help me to learn to walk beside someone, and not in front. Not just to know how to advocate and perform the doula tasks. But how to usher back in the old ways of women supporting women. Doulas contribute to better breastfeeding rates and lowering infant mortality.

Evergreen Perinatal Education, Simpkin Center at Bastyr University. March 9, 2018

Certified Lactation Educator (CLE)

With equality in mind Molly M. Pessl, BSN, IBCLC, FILCA teaches this intensive focused on the best practice for care in lactation. This was 45 hours of hands-on, descriptive educational lectures, case studies, and tools for sorting out challenging lactation situations. I am confident that with this program I can effectively assist you.

Certified Postpartum Doula (CPD)

My original goal was to focus on nursing mothers and the postpartum time. However, Shafia Monroe told me if I wanted to understand the postpartum I needed to train for birth as well. And was she ever right! It's hard to have one without the other. Holistic and rich in championing women for women. I was taught how to be a mother's companion and foster family bonding, especially during those 1st 40 days.

Cultural Competency

Cultural Competency Training was to equip me with a solid jumping off point to work with diverse populations, such as the underserved demographics, in maternal and child health. This was a total of 6 hours of CE through DONA. Advocacy and finding my voice within the birth world is what I learned.

Postpartum Doula Training

This is a description of your certification. Concisely describe the degree, certification, or training listed. Presenting your training and certification shows your visitors that you’re an experienced and trustworthy service-provider. This can help potential clients feel good about choosing you as their Doula.

CAPPA, April 2019

Working With Multiples

This is an advanced training for Postpartum Doulas. I have completed 2 postpartum doula trainings and wanted to add a specialized training that was to help parents with multiples. This was a total of 8 CEU hours. A hands-on mixed with lecture-style class.

AAP, September 2019

Safe Sleep

I achieved this certificate through the American Academy of Pediatrics/Healthy Child Care America. The focus of this program is to reduce the risk of SIDS and SUID. This is a total of 1.00 contact hour(s). I can help guide you in creating safe sleep solutions for your home. I would love to be helpful in reducing infant mortality here in the US.
